Caylee Ortega


Ms. Caylee Ortega joined Clinical Research Management (CRM) as the Director of Business Development in January 2007. She has over 20 years of experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD). Ms. Ortega has worked with the DoD in various capacities; as a soldier, as a government employee, and as a contractor. She is a Level II Certified Acquisition Professional Program Manager and brings many years of experience in Program/Project Management. Ms. Ortega has managed multi-million dollar budgets for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools – European Headquarters (DoDDS-E), U.S. Air Force, U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and NASA. She has proven abilities in contract management, financial management and defense acquisition.


More recently, Ms. Ortega was responsible for managing proposal writing efforts and in the past year has lead CRM to the award of two government contracts. As a senior member of CRM’s staff Ms. Ortega acts as the Program Manager for all contracting efforts in the D.C. Metro area, including Fort Detrick. Ms. Ortega is also a member of the Women’s Business Network (WBN), the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.


In her spare time she enjoys tackling home improvement projects with her husband of 18 years, and playing with her three golden retrievers; Lucy, Maggie and Sunny.
