Saturday, August 9, 2008 – Women's Distance Festival at Frederick Community College
We are pleased to announce that the WID-GFC will be one of the sponsors of this 5K run hosted by the local Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club! WID-GFC likes to promote a healthy lifestyle for all women as part of a successful personal and professional life.

The race will start at 8:30 a.m. Entry fees are $10 for under 18 and $15 for adults before July 31 and $15 for under 18 and $20 for adults after July 31. Commemorative technical T-shirts will be given to all pre-registrants. Awards will be given to top 3 finishers as well as top 3 in each age group. Mother-daughter, sister-sister, aunt-niece, and grandmother-granddaughter team prizes will also be awarded. Lots of post-race refreshments and prizes!
If your company is interested in sponsoring, please contact Luanne.houck@gdit.com. With a $50 or greater donation of cash or prizes, your company's logo will be printed on the race t-shirt.
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 – 2nd Women's Golf Academy
Due to rave reviews, everyone has voted unanimously to hold the Women's Golf Academy again this year! Please mark your calendars now and more information will be coming soon. We are looking for corporate sponsors for donations of prizes and cash for our scholarship fund. For those who didn't attend last year, check out our website at www.greaterfrederickwid.org under past 2007 events to see our great pictures.
This event will be limited to the first 32 with full-payment. There will be great giveaways, door prizes, and awards. Held at Glade Valley Golf Club with Instructor, George Stem, Master Teaching Professional.
